Hi, my name is Dan O'Rourke and I am the creator of NRG BARs. Growing up in the restaurant business, I’ve been around food my whole life. I love to cook and create in the kitchen. I guess you could say the kitchen brings out the happy mad scientist in me. It really pleases me when friends or family eat something I created and say it was great or made them feel healthy .
Their genuine fervor for my healthy and tasty snacks and their collective call for me to take the Eat Healthy Live Healthy mission to the masses is what really gave me the confidence to put my creations out there.
Upon graduating high school, I followed my father and joined the United States Marine Corps. While in the reserves, I attended Cape Cod Community College and earned an associates degree in hotel and restaurant management. I continued my higher education with acceptance to Bentley College, where I earned a bachelors degree in business management.
After nearly ten years of the corporate high-tech landscape, I started Sweet P Foods and NRG BAR. I was always an active kid playing sports growing up, but never the fastest or strongest. Now, I am a Ironman triathlete, who just also happens to be pretty fast and pretty strong too. My wife and I started racing in sprint triathlons ten years ago. When we struggled to have children a few years back, we decided it was time to change. We created and modified an organic diet that fit our lifestyle and pushed us toward our goal of Eat Healthy Live Healthy. We started exercising everyday; maintaining a physical regimen that would complement our new food choices. Now, four years later we have the most beautiful and amazing daughter we could have ever dreamed of.
The knowledge we gained about how foods interact with and affect our bodies and mind changed the way we think about food. We now care what we put in our bodies. The information is out there and we are hearing about it more and more. Lifestyles, stress, environment, it all has an effect on us. Sweet P Foods wants to make snack products for you and your family that are healthy, delicious. Why should you or your child eat crackers with an ingredients list the length of the box? We don't want you to.
You can change everything. Start with what you eat. Its our motto, "Eat Healthy Live Healthy". Get out there and make a difference.
